Robert Davies Competition at Oxford Business School
The International Business Leaders Forum was the first non-profit global entity to focus on the role of business in society. Supported by corporations and multi-nationals, the International Business Leaders Forum was able to make a significant contribution to business leadership and to business practices over a period of 24 years. Throughout its history it engaged with the most senior business leaders in the world leaders to help bring together collective action and drive effective and informed business engagement in development challenges.
This essay competition is in honor of the late Robert Davies, founder and CEO, of International Business Leaders Forum. Robert's life was committed to making the world a better place by building strong relationships between major global corporations, the public sector and civil society.
The purpose of the essay contest is to encourage Oxford University students and/or current faculty to exercise thought leadership by proposing how the internet can evolve to continue changing and improving the world, particularly for those with limited opportunities; how business can take advantage of these developments to transform their thinking and practice.
Candidates were invited to submit an essay of between 2,000 and 4,000 words on the following topic: Describe how "the Internet of everything" can enhance large scale transformational change around corporate responsibility and economic opportunity.
